Chris Summers
Sleep Apnea Clinician Β· Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
RPSGT-certified sleep apnea care, mentored at St. Boniface.
If you have recently been diagnosed with sleep apnea - or are struggling to stay consistent with your CPAP therapy - Chris Summers is here to help.
Chris is Liberty Sleep's dedicated Sleep Apnea Clinician, specializing in the assessment, education, and long-term treatment support of adult sleep disorders in Winnipeg. As a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) - one of the highest credentials in sleep medicine - Chris brings the clinical depth and genuine patient-first approach that make a real and lasting difference in treatment outcomes.
Chris earned his RPSGT certification under the direct mentorship of Dr. Meir Kryger at St. Boniface Hospital - a globally recognized pioneer in sleep medicine and one of the most cited researchers in the field worldwide. That foundation shaped not only his clinical knowledge but his entire philosophy around patient care: thorough, honest, unhurried, and always focused on what will work for the individual sitting in front of him.
He works in close collaboration with sleep physicians, respirologists, family physicians, and referring healthcare providers across Winnipeg and the surrounding region - ensuring every patient receives fully coordinated, physician-aligned care from first appointment through to long-term therapy success. Chris understands the full clinical picture, bridges the gap between what a physician prescribes and what a patient can realistically sustain at home, and communicates proactively with referring providers so that no patient ever falls through the cracks between clinic and bedroom.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Winnipeg and remains committed to continuous professional development, regularly attending sleep medicine conferences and advanced training programs to ensure his patients always benefit from the most current knowledge in sleep apnea diagnosis, therapy, and device technology.
Chris knows that starting CPAP therapy can feel overwhelming. Many patients arrive at Liberty Sleep feeling uncertain, frustrated, or discouraged after unsuccessful attempts elsewhere. His approach is calm, structured, and deeply practical - walking through every step clearly, answering every question without rushing, and working with each patient to find mask fits, pressure solutions, and comfort adjustments that make therapy something they can genuinely commit to. The goal is never just compliance. It is meaningfully better sleep, and a better life.
